"The Madam Walker Story"

Madam C.J. Walker. Trailblazer. Entrepreneur. Activist. Each month, "The Madam Walker Story" character vignette brings to life the rich legacy she created here in Indianapolis. 

Learn about the rich legacy she created for women, African Americans, and Indianapolis! As part of your experience, you can visit the Walker Heritage Center and see many of the artifacts and memorabilia of Madam Walker and the Walker Theatre.

Freetown Evening Dinner

Treat yourself to a memorable evening of African American cuisine and authentic period entertainment. Enjoy the company of Freetown Village residents as they host a dinner as it might have been presented in 1870, complete with before and after dinner parlor games, storytelling and songs. Active participation is encouraged as dinner guests feast on a full course all-you-can-eat family style dinner. Dinner programs are offered periodically and can also be arranged for private parties. Private dinner programs may be arranged for your group of 30 or more.
